Original art available now - free shipping today

My June art release is here.
So much has happened since the start of the year, and this work was born in the midst of it. These 16 pieces have been an exploration of a new way of working and using the supplies I have in my studio in support of my no buy year. There are a mix of mediums — explorations of watercolor and oil pastel on paper, abstract seascapes in the Home | Free series (read more about it here), and pastel-inspired landscapes and abstracts.

It often feels like talking about my art is the least important thing I could be doing right now. Everything feels heavy and I struggled to even write and send this launch because it feels so inconsequential in the context of the disgusting violence and hate around us. How am I supposed to care if my art sells when children are being intentionally starved to death? And, I also have to care so I can feed my own child. Locally, Daily Table, a Massachusetts non-profit community grocery store whose mission was to make nutritious, quality food affordable for everyone, recently closed. They shared in a statement that "the pressures of facing historically high levels of food price increases, to the current uncertain and difficult funding environment (they had lost their USDA aid funding), sustaining Daily Table has become increasingly difficult. Without immediate funding to bridge us through 2025, we cannot continue.” This directly impacts access to affordable, healthy food for people and communities in the Greater Boston area who are facing food insecurity
It’s all connected. We are all connected.
So, I am grateful for my ability to keep finding and creating beauty in the midst of everything. I hope you find something that speaks to you. But mostly, I hope you are taking care of yourselves and we can keep taking care of each other.
To make collecting art a little easier, I’m offering free shipping for all work today (June 10)! Free shipping is always available for those with a founding member annual subscription.
Payment plans are also available through AfterPay if you'd like to split your purchase into 4 interest-free installments.
I am also open to trades with other artists or small business owners, so feel free to email me at hello@jocelynelizabeth.com (or reply to this email) if you would like to explore this option!

My online shop will be open through June 16, after which, any work that remains in inventory will be painted over or repurposed in alignment with my new process and no-buy year. For a reminder of how my original art release process works, and an overview of subscription levels (free, collector's list and founding members), you can find the details here - and learn about my no buy year (artist's version) here.

Thank you, as always, for your support,
Jocelyn

Beyond the Studio with Jocelyn Elizabeth is an intimate behind-the-scenes look at my creative practice and life as an artist, writer and mom. Here, you can expect to find visual art, personal essays and poetry. My work explores the question of what it means to be alive from the interconnected lens of our human experience and the natural world, and I am interested in how we can live differently and better alongside the earth and each other. My portfolio and more information about me can be found at www.jocelynelizabeth.com.
